Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to have any climbing experience to come to an event?
Beginners are welcome at all events unless specifically stated otherwise! We love having first-timers at our indoor climbing meet-ups; it’s a great place to learn in a supportive environment. Climbers of all experience levels are welcome.
Is Seattle Queer Climbers just for a certain type of climbing?
No way! While many of our events focus on gym or crag-centered climbing, there are many SQC members who love alpine climbing, ice climbing, mountaineering, and anything else you can think of.
Who organizes Seattle Queer Climbers events?
All events are completely volunteer-run, usually by the admin team. If you are interested in leading or hosting an event, please get in touch with us!
How can I get more involved in Seattle Queer Climbers?
We’re always looking for more help with the group! We currently have needs with website maintenance/blog writing, leading monthly gym climb nights, and organizing outdoor climbing events. Send us a message with your name and what you’re interested in and we’ll get back to you quickly.
What if I have suggestions for resources or contacts to include in our Resources?
We want your input! Please send us any ideas that you would like to share with our community. Speaking of which ...
