SPRING 2020 TRIP:
DESERT SOUTHWEST

UPDATE:

This trip has been postponed, in its entirety, due to necessary public health precautions enacted in response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Seattle Queer Climbers looks forward to seeing you in Bishop, California and Red Rock Canyon, Nevada at a later date. Check out our FAQs & Resources page to learn why it's important for us all to stay home and stay healthy, and how you can help.

THE DETAILS:

You! And your friends, family, and sweeties. This event is centered around queer and trans people but all are welcome to attend.

Many people will be flying down from the Seattle area, but folks from all around the world are welcome to join this trip!

There is climbing on this trip for people of all skill and ability levels. We’ll have some peer-led climbing days for newer climbers, but there won’t be any professional instruction on this trip.

Climbing in the desert southwest! Living the dirtbag life in the sun for a few weeks while the PNW is socked in with rain. We’ll be sharing stories around the campfire, visiting local establishments, and forging a stronger community together.

There will be bouldering, sport climbing, and trad climbing to varying degrees at all the destinations on this trip.

Payahǖǖnadǖ aka Bishop, California and Red Rock Canyon outside of Las Vegas, Nevada.

Bishop is colonized on native land of the Pauite, Newe, and Mono people.

Red Rock Canyon is colonized on native land of the Paiute and Newe people.

Bishop Crags:

Red Rocks Crags:

TBD - Check back for updates!

Because we're all tired of being the only queer, trans, gay, or gender non-conforming person at the crag! Because it feels so much less scary to fall when your spotter or belayer has your back! Because good community is hard to come by!
